Good Changes are Coming!

A message from Corey and the staff at Afraid to Trade:

I hope you like the update and professional upgrades to the blogsite – thank you so much to my new web design partner Pallian Creative, a leader in financial website design, and creator of the Chart.ly site!  This is the first of other changes coming that I wanted to share with you.  I wanted to share my sincerest thanks to all you readers who have watched us grow and develop over these past two years.

First, I am creating a free lengthy Education Section that will serve as a reference for learning technical analysis, and will include example and definitions of patterns, indicators, Fibonacci, Elliott Wave and much more.  It will be continuously updated and expanded and will almost serve as an online book as it develops – keep checking back as that section is launched and expanded week by week.

Second, I will begin offering two in-depth subscription services that go beyond the free content I offer (randomly) each day on the blog.  These will NOT replace daily blog posts – they will be in addition to them for readers who want to follow closer and learn trading techniques and find possible trading opportunities from Corey’s analysis.  Now that I have received my Chartered Market Technician professional designation, I’m ready to offer these premium services to you.

A.  “Idealized Trades” Daily Summaries

I’m most excited to begin offering the first subscription service, my daily “Idealized Trades” summary.  Each day for the last few years, I’ve printed off charts of the stocks or ETFs I’ve traded and then annotated my observations after the close to note where I executed my trades and – in hindsight – where I should have done so.

Deeply analyzing each day’s trading opportunities (based on the lessons and objective trade set-ups I teach) has immensely improved my pattern recognition skills, and seeing so many patterns after the day is over has developed my skills to recognize these patterns as they form during the trading day.

It has given me the confidence to trade these set-ups with objectivity – in a sense, has taken away the feeling that “the day is random!” and instead filled it with low-risk, high probability trade set-ups based on confirmation/non-confirmation of non-correlated methods.

My mentorship clients have benefited from this private service as it has allowed them to ‘look over my shoulder’ as I do my end-of-day analysis and highlight key opportunities they missed, which in turn develops their pattern recognition skills and makes them better traders through seeing these repetitive opportunities in the price structure.  I also take the time to describe these opportunities and teach them via “teaching moments.”

B.  Intermarket Weekly Technical Analysis Reports

I do research and analysis with a local money manager each day, and began writing a weekly report to detail the multi-time frame structures of the broad inter-related Treasury, Stock (S&P 500), Gold, Crude Oil, and US Dollar (Index) markets.  In the report, I highlight key investment opportunities based on the price structure and alignment of multiple timeframes.

The report takes a “Technical Purism” approach and is meant to supplement professional analysis of these markets.  It takes a longer timeframe approach and notes key technical structures, quantifies risk, details possible opportunities, and ties the markets together for a holistic approach.

The report allows me to ‘flex my technical muscles’ and combines deep level technical work such as Elliott Wave, advanced Fibonacci, momentum insights, candlestick insights, and other forms of analysis designed to give you a quick look at these markets and how they relate so you can spot key turns as well as expected support and resistance quicker.

Finally, I am formally announcing my Educational Mentorship Program, which will expand to include webinars, web-conferences, online group/classroom instruction, seminars, and one-on-one intensive mentorship opportunities.

I have currently trained 12 students in six countries (USA, Singapore, United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, and Abu Dhabi/UAE) in one-on-one email and phone-call mentorship.  I am expanding this program as demand has grown.  More details will arise once the subscription services are in place so keep checking back for more information.

If you have not done so already, sign-up to our email communication list or register for the Afraid to Trade blog.  I’ve been posting more updates to Twitter, so be sure and follow us there @afraidtotrade if you have a Twitter account.

As always, none of this would be possible without you readers, so my first goal is service to you.  Feel free to email, comment, or interact (come see me speak in Los Angeles June 6th at the Trader’s Expo!  Let me know if you’ll be coming so I can try to meet up with you and personally thank you for being a reader!

And finally, remember our mantra at Afraid to Trade:  Let’s Overcome Trading Fears through Education!

could you recommend a trading program for swing trading stocks and ETFS. I have Trade Station but don't have a problem switching brokers if a good program is available. Please don't recommend any books. I have a bunch and if you asked me whats in them I could tell you. Instead of writing books these guys should have gone into politics.

Have read books on Elliott Wave and seen letters of market writer who have subscription services. Its like ink blot charts. Every one sees something different in the charts.
Seems like a waste of time to try and make money with this technique.

Could you tell me if you think bond spread is a leading indicator of market strength? Is there a place I can learn more about this?
As an analyst, what should I monitor to follow this?
  • Thanks for information and the resources. That’s great and useful for my desire to increase my revenue from blogs.

    Hi Corey,

Your sites new look and feel is great but I'm not finding any content under sections like Education Center, Mentorship, and Premium lessons.

Is this on the way? I may be interested in a Mentorship and want to make sure the problem isn't on my end.

If I just have to be patient that's cool too.
  • great things will come for you Corey, congrats!
  • Thanks Billy Ray!

I'm so happy with the changes - The Disqus comments improvement is great so far.

I'm trying to introduce things one step at a time so as not to overwhelm readers... or myself!
