Man,

I respect the form of charting which existed before bar and candle charts (at least in the US) gained popularity, and they really boil the data down to objective targets with objective stops that really no one can dispute... unlike bar and candle charts, which are subjective and many interpretations arise.

My specialty and interest, however, remains the type of analysis I do mainly on candle charts but I do like that P&F charts can give price projection targets that the mass of traders aren't paying attention to.

They're not my style and I've studied a good deal about them but never had the patience to let them play out. As an active trader, I need the more frequent signals from bar/candle charts.

I'd be happy to hear from other readers.

Planet,

Not much - we had to study them for the CMT but they never spoke to me, but they are far easier to see S/R and I like that they give non-correlated price projection methods (apart from Fibonacci, Elliott, etc).

Asc. Triple Top signals are quite powerful in P&F charting if I'm not mistaken so it will be good to see the resolution of this move.

Reggie,

You're right - we have filled a gap which can also serve as resistance. CAT's daily chart shows multiple gaps which isn't surprising given the recent market volatility.

It's just rare that we see such strong conflicting signals.

Hi Corey, do you use point and figure charts at all? CAT had an ascending triple top breakout on the 2nd January and has a bullish price objective of 58.

I don't follow the stock at all but, from the daily chart, it looks as though we have rallied to fill a gap from Oct 12/13th

as you say....leave alone......wait and see......
