Indicators the Disciplined Investor is Watching April 12

Apr 12, 2010: 9:42 AM CST

Monday morning brings us another week-starting post from Andrew Horowitz as he shares his “Indicators the Disciplined Investor is Watching.”

This morning’s posts focuses on charts and earnings, and the update is titled:

Earnings Season Trends and Directions.

Andrew writes:

“Gold looks prime to rip higher as inflation concerns emerge and oil bulls are having a real party, even as oil fundamentals do not match the current price levels.”

Andrew also posted a helpful chart on what has happened during the last few times we have moved into “Earnings Season,” as seen below:

“Watch to see reaction to earnings this week. Either one of two things are going to happen…

Markets got way ahead of themselves in advance of this season and disappointment will be felt hard, or we have a clean ride to 1,250 for the S&P 500.”

It should be an interesting week ahead for sure!
