Indicators the Disciplined Investor is Watching Feb 1

Feb 1, 2010: 11:15 AM CST

It’s time for another update from Andrew Horowitz of the Disciplined Investor website for a check on “Indicators We are Watching for February 1st, 2010.

The current update is ominously entitled “Bears in Charge” which highlights some key points that warrant attention.

The following image links to the post, which shows some of the chart readings Andrew is monitoring.

In the quick commentary this week, Andrew writes:

“The last few weeks have shown a pronounced change in sentiment. Daily trends show a higher level of selling with a leap in volume.”

“Add to that the pointed comments from President Obama regarding potential taxes and bank penalties to provide a difficult backdrop for investors. Even though earnings have been generally meeting or exceeding analysts, expectations were clearly ahead of themselves.”

This week’s charting examples include the following:

Bullish Percent (overbought),
Up – Down Volume (surge in Down Volume)
Breadth (Not Yet “oversold”)
A Rise in Total Volume (during the sell-off)

…and 14 other quick charts for you to view.
